WERC investigates carbon monoxide (CO) incidents ranging from claims of low-level, long-term exposure to acute exposures in excess of 2,000 parts per million (ppm) that resulted in death.

With thorough investigation WERC forensic engineers can often determine what the likely CO levels were at the time of the incident. During the course of the investigation, WERC evaluates code provisions related to installation, maintenance, and operation of the gas-burning appliances.

WERC has the latest equipment to measure CO levels onsite and additional testing capacity in our laboratory. WERC tests, examines, and disassembles boilers, furnaces, water heaters, room heaters, wall heaters, construction heaters, dryers, ranges, and any other gas-burning appliance.
