David J. Transue is a Civil Engineer specializing in condition evaluation of structures, material testing and research, construction litigation, and the design of repairs and retrofits for existing structures. He has worked extensively using nondestructive techniques for imaging and investigation of structural components.
Mr. Transue has worked as a consulting structural engineer since 1998, specializing in the evaluation and repair of existing structures. He has worked as a masonry contractor with Preservation Technology since 2000. Masonry restoration projects have included structural stabilization of facades, rebuilding of load bearing walls, historic monument restoration, stone tooling, carving and replacement, rebuilding foundations, and other restoration activities and structural repairs for commercial, institutional and private clients.
Mr. Transue has served on several committees for the American Society of Testing and Materials. During 2002-2004 he was chairman of a task group on nondestructive evaluation of masonry and another task group on mortar hardness testing. |
